"Love brings anything unlike itself to the surface to be healed."

Hello. Let me introduce myself to you, my name is David. I am a social worker. I am a devoted husband, a very proud father, and a caretaker to a furry creature named Nala.

I got a Masters in Education (M.Ed) from Boston University, and then was a School Counselor for six years. I realized that I wanted to work with families on a deeper level than I could in the school system, so I returned to BU. I got a Masters in Social Work (MSW) and became a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).

When the world seemed to stop, during COVID, I recognized that I really wanted to help support others through trauma. I was trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and entered into a world of trauma healing. There was so many powerful and helpful strategies to learn. One of them became especially meaningful to me.

I was introduced to Internal Family Systems (IFS), and then was trained in this model through IFS Institute. This helped me access some of the trauma healing models on a more deeper level.

When Bruce Hersey entered my life, and became my consultant, I learn how IFS and EMDR could be interwoven together to created IFS informed EMDR (IIE). This model helped become the way that I was able to understand my own internal system, and it led to powerful and very positive changes in my life.

Another professional interest of mine has led me to become trained in Intimacy from the Inside Out (IFIO). This is a model that combines IFS and Couples Counseling. Currently, I have been working on writing a chapter in a Therapy Book that combines IFS and EMDR. My chapter is going to be the integration of Couples Counseling with EMDR and IFS.
